Nakto Camel Cargo Electric Bike

Nakto Camel Cargo Electric Bike

The Nakto Camel Cargo Electric Bike is an excellent all-rounder and has great utility value due to both it’s strong motor and storage basket on the front and back.

Coming with two assisted cycling modes, this bike will allow you to choose between Electric mode which provides a small power boost for a long-distance or Assisted mode which provides a large boost but will drain the battery faster.

If you run out of battery then you don’t have to worry, as the bike can be ridden without any assistance like a normal bike.

Under the hood is a 36V, 10AH removable lithium battery. You’ll be able to get a range of 22-28 miles using Electric mode or 28-35 miles using Assisted mode.

Additionally, the 250W motor will have no issue getting you to the max speed of 25mph. As the battery is removable, you have the option of putting a stronger one in if you feel like you need it.

Quality Shimano gears underpin the design of the bike, with a 6-speed transmission system, front V brake, and rear expansion brake the main features.

Other features on the bike include horn, LED headlamp at the front of the bike, front storage basket and also the ability to attach a storage basket to the rear of the bike.

The frame and front fork are made from high-strength carbon steel and the bike includes shock absorption for a comfortable ride.

Versatile 26” tires come as stock and allows you to ride on the road, trails or even cruise down by the beach. The tires are closest to semi-slick tires.

If you’re 4.9”-6.6” then you’re a perfect height for the Nakto and at 70lbs (with battery) the bike is a little heavier compared to others in the sub-$1000 price range due to its storage capability.

Both the e-bike and battery come with a 1-year warranty and come to you almost fully assembled, you just have to plug the battery in!

With its strong motor, storage capability and versatile tires, this is one of the best value electric bikes and excellent value for money.

Cyclamatic Power Plus CX1 Electric Mountain Bike

Cyclomatic Power Plus CX1 Electric Bike

Whilst the Nakto was about versatility, the Cyclamatic CX1 excels in one thing – mountain biking.

Ditching the storage, the CX1 instead offers more grippy tires, more gears and a sleek design that will make you the talk of the town.

The Shimano 21-speed gear system is a godsend for those steep inclines, helping you pedal upwards with greater efficiency.

Front suspension and padded saddle are staple features to cushion your ride and keep you going all day with minimal soreness.

26” Kenda tires with strong tread are perfect for trail and mountain conditions and they’re also quick release in the event of a flat.

The 250W brushless motor can get up to 15mph, whilst the 36V 8.8Ah Li-ion battery is capable of a 31-mile ride. You’ll be able to recharge the battery in 4-6 hrs.

There are 3 level assist modes, low, medium and high offering varying degrees of assistance. The more assist you get, the quicker the battery will drain.

Like other bikes, you can also ride the CX1 without any assistance like a normal mountain bike.

This bike is suitable for those 5”4 and above and up to 220lb.

Cyclamatic bikes come with a 1-year warranty and they also have a website where you can order spare parts for peace of mind.

It can be tough to find quality in this price range, but Cyclamatic has done a great job with the CX1 and I can definitely say that it’s one of the best budget electric bikes.

SwagCycle EB-5 Pro Folding Electric Bike

SwagCycle EB-5 Pro Electric Bike

If you’re after an e-bike that’s easily stored, look no further than a folding electric bike. And what better option than the SwagCycle EB-5 Pro – the best folding electric bike under $1000.

The EB-5 Pro’s foldable frame can fold in on itself 3 times which makes it small enough to fit in the car boot or under your desk, perfect for those that live in an apartment.

Weighing in at 37lbs, this is the lightest bike on our list and easily one of the most portable. The handlebars, frame, and pedals are all foldable!

With the 250W motor, you’ll get a range of 15.5 miles and be able to speed up to a max of 15mph. To increase the distance, just start pedaling! The 36V battery has a charging time of just 4-5 hours.

The tires reflect the city nature of the bike; small 14” wheels that have pretty good traction. You wouldn’t want to try mountain biking with these but they’re more than adequate for city and beach living.

Additionally, they also have disconnectable power lines for easy maintenance.

Despite the small frame, the bike will be able to support your weight if you’re less than 264lbs and the height-adjustable seat means the bike is perfect for adults and teens alike.

SwagCycle has a cargo rack that can be bought separately that adds storage capability to the bike, great for those quick trips to the shops.

The EB-5 Pro is one of the best cheap electric bikes on the market and certainly one of the most portable. If you value portability and compact size above all else then you can’t go past this gem!

Ancheer 2019 Model Electric Mountain Bike

Ancheer 2019 model Electric Bike

The Ancheer 2019 e-bike model is quite similar to the Cyclomatic reviewed above, with the key differences being that it’s made with aluminum alloy instead of steel which makes it slightly heavier and a bit less durable.

Shimano again features in the gearing and braking systems, with a 21-speed transmission system giving you flexibility whilst going up hills and pedaling as efficiently as you can.

The aluminum frame has an electrostatic baking varnish that helps reduce dust and dirt on the frame, as well as hydroforming technology that increases the strength of your bike.

Similar to other options in this price range, the Ancheer has a 250W motor combined with a 36V 8Ah Li-ion battery.

Combined, you’ll get a range of 30 miles and a max speed of 15mph. The battery is also removable so that you can install a more powerful battery if you require it.

Anyone up to 330lbs will be able to fit comfortably on the bike and an adjustable seat, handlebar and stem length gives you height flexibility.

This bike weighs 50lbs so it’s not exactly light but is about the mid-range of what you can expect in an e-bike.

Other features include LED headlamp and horn, in case you’re riding on the road. The front fork is shock absorbing which is crucial for those downhill tracks.

Ancheer provides a one-year warranty for the electric motor, bike, and battery.

Overall, an excellent choice for a mountain biking electric bike.

Ecotric Fat Tire Folding Electric Bike

Ecotric Fat Tire Electric Bike

Our final pick in this review is the most expensive choice and also has the most powerful motor.

The Ecotric is foldable which makes it great to store away and transport around, however, at 51.2lbs it is significantly heavier than the SwagCycle bike we reviewed above.

This extra weight comes from the fatter 20” tires that are more suited to rougher terrain and more off-road style activities.

Because of the extra weight, the motor is far stronger at 500W. Paired with a 36V 12ah lithium battery, you’ll be able to go 23miles at a max speed of 20mph. Charging time is 6-8 hours.

The brakes and transmission are.. You guessed it – Shimano. You’ll get 7-speed gearing which makes cycling around a breeze.

A max weight of 220lb is suitable for most people and Ecotric says the ideal height is 5.3-6ft.

There are more powerful configurations available if you like having more power and more distance.

One thing that sets Ecotric apart from their competitors is that they offer a 2-year warranty instead of the usual 1-year. This applies to the frame, battery, motor, controller and display.

Depending on your needs, this could be a great choice. It’s foldable but not as light as others, has wider tires but is also heavier. Ultimately, it’s a good all-rounder e-bike and it has excellent reviews for a reason.

What does the Reddit community think the best electric bike under $1000 is?

The general consensus on Reddit is that e-bikes under $1000 will be deficient in one area or another.

This is, of course, true for almost all items when you’re looking at budget price ranges as compromises need to be made somewhere to reduce the cost.

Juiced e-bikes seem to be mentioned quite frequently, however, they aren’t available on Amazon.
